Window Treatments

Addison's parents came on Tuesday night and put up the faux wood blinds that I purchased at Home Depot for $27.00 a piece. We didn't need to get them cut at all because the windows are a common size (31"). We did have to take out some slats because they were too long. Now they look like customized window treatments! They make a huge difference!

Here are some before and after photos!

Curtains!

Here is the pattern that I picked our for the curtains for the two windows and also the closet! I hope to have the curtains done soon. I was going to try to do them myself but I might have Addison's grandma sew them! I think they will prob turn out better than what I can do :)

I think the fabric is so cute, very feminine but to not busy so they will not look out of place!

What do you think?

Lets Rock!

My mom gave me her rocker that she had when we were babies. So this rocker is coming full circle so I can rock our lil nugget with it! I didnt want to paint it white because this rocker is an antique and I didn't want to ruin its quality. The next beset thing was just to recover the seat cushion. I wanted there to be white in the fabric so it would tie in with the rest of the other furniture.

I went to JoAnn Fabric and they were having a 50% off sale on their home fabrics. I ended up finding the perfect fabric for only $5.00. Addison's parents recovered it for us, it turned out great!

On the back of the rocker is a pillow sham that I found at The Company Store Outlet in Wisconsin, and the pillow/cute green polka dot pattern is a present from my mom. We have one more matching pillow & pillow case that I will use as well! Enjoy!

Nice find!

Addison and I went out shopping on Monday to homemakers to try to find a rug for the nursery. We were disappointed when we got there because there wasn't much selection for kid rugs and the colors we wanted. We had to stop by Target anyway to pick up a few things, so we looked at rugs there. We first looked in the rug section and found a hot pink shag rug that we both liked, then we went over to the kid bedding to see if there was anything else. SCORE! I saw it right away and thought the colors were perfect: pink and green. Also its not to flashy that it will take away from the curtains or anything! What do you think?

21 week pic!

Here is the 21 week picture! Not to much changed from last picture to this, but I feel like I am growing! A lot of stretching in the belly during this week! :)

Changing Table Part II

Addison over the wknd put the changing table together that my parents gave us. Looks great! Check it out!

Shine a little light on the subject!

So I forgot to take a before picture of my lamp that I re-did, so I will just have to describe it to you. This lamp was originally black and we have really never used it. It has been sitting in a closet for about two years..so I was going through some of our stuff to see what we could use in the nursery. On Sunday I took a trip to home depot to get some things and I picked up a can of key lime green spray paint for the dresser knobs. I had some paint leftover that I thought I would spray paint the lamp. It actually turned out really cute! I went and bought a pink lamp shade at Target for $7.99. Pretty cheap lamp for that price! Also in this picture are the spray painted knobs! They aren't completed yet, so that will be another blog!

Painting is complete!

Here are a couple photos of the paint before and after photos! I love how it turned out. A HUGE thanks to Addison's parents for doing the painting for us. They did a great job!

Clear for Take Off...

or painting! The office is almost clear and ready to be painted! We will be starting the painting process this weekend and hopefully we will be done on Sunday! We love to get stuff out our spare bedroom and into the nursery! Very excited to show you the new "apples and pears" color, I think it will look great! Let the painting begin!

Who said fleas were bad?

Okay...well actual fleas might be bad, but flea markets on the other hand can be great! Last weekend we were up visiting my parents at their cabin in WI and we stopped at a flea market. I told my mom I was looking for an ottoman that would go in the nursery so I could put my feet up while rocking the lil peanut. No longer than five minutes my mom calls me over and says, "Look at this!" There was a ottoman that we didn't think was for sale, but we asked the guy and he said name your price...of course I'm not good at negotiating, but good thing my mom was there because she is the best. She said $5.00, and he said "sold!" Perfect!! It also has storage so we can put some of her toys in there! Now I just need to see how it will fit in with its bright colors of white, black, lime green, and blue or if I should recover it. What do you think?

20 week pic!

Sorry I am getting this picture up so late! Not sure where the time has gone.... Here she is!

Project: Knobs

I have been looking at different websites to find some drawer knobs that I like but they seem to be more money than I actually bought the dresser for! I saw a set of 8 for $44.00, but I only bought the dresser for $40.00, so I don't think that makes to much sense. For people that know me I am not the craftiest person on the block, but if I can some $$ in the process I'm game. I looked at home depot and I found some wooden drawer knobs for $.98 a piece. I need six of them, so that will be around $6.00. Now all I need is a couple cans of spray paint! I am going to paint the knobs lime green and bright hot pink! I will keep you posted on how this turns out, but I think it should turn out cute and it will brighten up the white dresser!

The paint has been bought! It's a start! Now the painting process can begin! Very excited!! :)

19 week pic!

Here is the 19 week pic! I do feel like I have gotten a little bigger in the past week! We have our 20th ultrasound appt on Monday to find out how the lil gal/guy is doing and of course to find out WHAT it is! Very excited -- I think this is the first time I have wanted a weekend to go fast!
