Furniture back -- well kinda!

On Friday they delivered our couch, table, and tread mill. We were so excited to get them back but when we looked at them a little closer we weren't too happy! We had stratches all over our treadmill, a whole in our couch and stratches on our antique dining room table. seriously!! It's always something! We talked to the project manager and they are going to come look at the stuff on Monday. So hopefully something gets resolved with this...I'll keep you posted!

Door Trim

We had a worker come yesterday and put up the trim around the side door on the inside. All it needs to be is painted white and we are set!

Almost done!

We are getting about close to being done with this whole project! Yeah!! We still have some little items that still need to be done: the carpet isn't complete yet, the cabinets will need to be installed, and a few items upstairs need to be addressed. Here are the pictures of the new vinyl flooring on the stair landing, the newly painted stairs, and the carpet downstairs so far!

Basement Color!

Today they almost got done painting the basement and stairway hallway! The color is called Shaker Beige -- its a tan color. I think it will look nice with all of the other colors hopefully!! I think they will be coming on Monday to finish the touch ups then it should be good to go! Soon the electrician will be coming back to finish the lights & the carpet will be going in on Tuesday! More things to check off the list!

Color!

Yesterday they finished painting the kitchen, hallway, and dining room! Yeah!! The dining room is the same color as it was before - but the hallway is now a beige color and the kitchen --- is yellow! I thought I would get some vibrant color in the kitchen. It is very bold but I like it! Here are the updated pics!

Cabinets

Here is the cabinet color/style that we chose for the basement cabinets. Hopefully it looks good! It is very hard to tell from just a little swatch!

Painting!

Yesterday the painters started in painting! They started with the living room ceiling and walls. That is all they got done yesterday. They were suppose to come today but with the horrible weather they decided not to risk driving over here! Tomorrow they should get the dining room, hallway and kitchen at least started! Here are the pictures of the living room!

Basement Ceiling Updated

Here are the updated pictures of the basement ceiling. It has been texturized and just needs to be painted! It's coming along!

Siding!

Here is the updated siding outside. Here is the before and after pictures. They will not be able to paint the outside siding until spring because it needs to be above 40 degrees to paint outside. There is also going to be a few more new siding boards on the side that aren't there yet!

Random Others!

Here are a few random pictures of our kitchen and dining room. There were a few cracks so they needed to plaster them!

Mountain Dew!

This post is for my friend Brittney. She had commented on her website that mountain dew does make the construction world go round - which I now know she is EXACTLY right! When I walked down to the basement tonight what did I see???? A mountain dew 12-pack! Right on Brittney!

Tuesday Basement!

They got the ceiling put up today and it looks great! They will put the texture on it tomorrow and it should be done! We are excited to have that phase done. Our new lights are looking good too with the ceiling! As for the walls - they plastered the walls to make it smooth and patched cracks. Ha ha...patched cracks, that sounds funny!!!

Working 9-5!

Well Tuesday was a big day to get more improvements around the basement, outside and living room! The workers got a lot done and they said they might be able to be finished with their part tomorrow, which is two days ahead of schedule! AWESOME! Here are the pictures of the living room before they got going, there is plaster everywhere!! Then next is the pictures of the living room with the plaster on the walls! As you can see in these picture I was watching the presidental address on TV. I was thinking about changing the channel but decided to pay attention and not watch my DVR!

Zoe Zoo the Tired Dog!

With all of this construction going on Zoe doesn't get her beauty sleep during the day now so she gets her sleep at night! Here's an example of tonight!

Living Room Updates!

The workers today are also working on the living room plaster walls and the ceiling. Here are a couple pictures of the ceiling and the workers. They are working hard to help us get this done!

New Side Door!

We have a side door that you can either go to our kitchen or go downstairs to the basement and the door got damaged so it had to be replaced. The new door is a steel door which really updates the look since our old door was wood. Here are the pics of the new door. They aren't fully done yet, the still need to do the trim around it on the inside and outside!

Smooth Walls!!

Well the drywall/plaster/ceiling workers started today! One step closer! Here are some pictures of the basement walls - they have a coating on them to make the walls smooth. It looks like cement that they smeared on and it just might be. I'm not sure :)

More Lights!

Since we were putting new lights downstairs we thought we would update some other lights around the house while we were doing it! Addison's dad Ron (pictured left)came over and helped us put the lights up! In the picture he is in is at the top of the stairs that go down to the basement. We also replaced the light at the bottom of the stairs. We also put new outside lights on the front of the house and on the side as well. They look great!
